EHS Assistant (Fully Onsite)
Location: San Fernando, CA
Department: Health & Safety
Job Type: Assistant (Temp-Hire)
Pay: $21-$24/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain safety documents (JSAs, SOPs, policies).
  • Assist with equipment safety inspections and mechanical guard checks.
  • Support and deliver safety trainings on new/updated programs.
  • Help implement safety programs such as HazCom, PIT, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Fall Protection, and LOTO.
  • Assist with injury investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Perform weekly/monthly inspections of emergency equipment.
  • Support environmental compliance, including AQMD, Stormwater, Wastewater, CARB, and related reporting.
  • Track and maintain AQMD permits and documentation.
  • Maintain the SDS program for chemical-related departments.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs to identify hazards and assess work practices.
  • Support Corporate Trainer with onboarding training.
  • Perform data entry and maintain compliance records.
  • Coordinate with internal departments on EHS procedures.
  • Climb ladders, bend, stoop, and navigate production areas as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality, sanitation, cGMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements.
  • Regular attendance and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Occupational Safety & Health (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA regulations, and MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; English required, Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to present information and answer questions effectively.
  • Must be able to travel to any company facility as needed, sometimes same-day.
